Hello,
I'm looking at buying a laptop to replace my desktop pc, looking for something fast enough to do a bit of multitasking, multiple windows open, YouTube, torrents etc. and the opertunity to do some light gaming every now and again. My desktop is a phenom ii x4 @ 3.4ghz,4gb ram and a 5770 so I'm not a massive power user.

I'm looking at http://stuff-uk.net/p-1276389.aspx as a start off, though wouldn't be adverse to a i3 i5 and discrete graphics. Require a hdmi port and 320gb hard drive or greater, 15" screen ish.
Not adverse to used or eBay, based in the UK.

Thanks for your help!

Yes that may help, the laptop i linked to is ~£400 and I'd be more than happy with that performance but if there are major gains to be found at £450 i'd be OK going there.

Thanks.

A10-4600m has more power than the A8 you're looking for, both in the CPU and GPU departments (about a 10-20% gain).

Samsung for 504.94: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-NP355V5C-SuperMulti-Graphics-Premioum/dp/B008EJGJHC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1351188266&sr=1-1
Acer for 449.99: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-V3-551-15-6-inch-Laptop/dp/B009RNFC0Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1351188266&sr=1-4

Best you're going to do for your price range, honestly.

Edit: This generation of Acer laptops seems to be doing better than the ones from 2009 and prior. You should be good to go with one of them, that is if you were unsure about them before.
