1. What is your budget?

$1000 at most. The cheaper, the better!

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

Doesn't matter, but just not too big.

3. What screen resolution do you want?

1080p's great but anything's fine.. Should be bigger than 1280x720p though. :p

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

No...?

5. How much battery life do you need?

A good amount.. 5+ hours, hopefully more? But, I honestly have no idea what kind of battery life that gaming laptops hold.. Assuming it's bad.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

The main game that'll be played on this laptop is League of Legends.. so it shouldn't take much to run this game. :p MAYBE some CS:GO if he'll ever get to it.

Medium settings should be fine, but he'll probably just care for a steady 45+ FPS.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

Youtube.. Office word.. Twitch.. Not much.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

500+ GB?

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

Doesn't matter, but I'm close to a Microcenter.. so if they have a good deal, I'm willing to go there to get it.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

As long as it can last. (More than 4 years, possibly?)

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

A standard one is fine. Don't need bluray.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

Don't care as long the specs are good.

13. What country do you live in?

USA, California.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

Nope. Don't know that many good laptops out there.. More of a PC person. :) Thanks for the help!

I'd suggest an Acer Aspire V3 572G. It costs a couple dollars under $600 from Newegg (including shipping).

Has a native resolution of 1366x768, an Intel Core I5 4510U (1.7GHz turbo boost up to 2.7GHz) dual core with hyper threading, GeForce 840M (2GB) dedicated GPU, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, and is rated up to 7 hours of battery; however, I do not believe it comes with an ODD (DVD/CD drive), but you should be able to find an external USB powered one for around $30-40.

It could easily handle anything light (like WoW, LoL, Guild Wars, etc.) on high settings and should even handle Battlefield 4 (most resource intensive game to date, that I'm aware of) on at least medium with "decent" frame rates (25-30), mind you, without FRAPS.
