I am looking for a laptop under $500 to play minecraft that will run some mods on it to and I would love some help on it.

Solution
I actually need to retract the above recommendation because I thought the AMD A8-6410 APU had the integrated Radeon R6 graphics core, not the Radeon R5 graphics core. What that means is that the Radeon R5 is almost equal to the Intel HD 4200 graphics core which is weaker than what I had thought.... I should probably get some sleep soon...

Anyway, the link to the following Asus laptop for a slightly cheaper price is actually better. The dual core i5-4200u CPU is more powerful than the quad core AMD A8-6410 APU when it come to processing power. The integrated Intel HD 4400 also performs better than the Radeon R5. My recommendation to add another 4GB of RAM still stands though...

Thank you

When you can you should install another stick of 4GB of RAM to get a little better performance. With two sticks of RAM the RAM will operate in Dual Channel mode instead of Single Channel mode. That basically means data will transfer faster which can increase game performance by 5% - 10% depending on the game.

It also means you can avoid potentially getting low memory errors when playing games. Windows, games / programs and the integrated graphics twill all be using the same 4GB of RAM. Not an absolute must, but more RAM is generally better; no need to go beyond 8GB of RAM though.
