Looking for a new gaming headset: stereo or surround?

First off, I want to make sure I can run this headset from the FRONT input panel from my pc.
It has one audio input and one mic input. Can I run it like this on my motherboard audio driver? (AsRock P67 Pro3 - Realtek HD audio)

I will mainly be using this for FPS gaming, so the situational awareness should be better, right?

Budget is about €50.

sure surround sound is essential for FPS... however surround sound headphones suck in quality..... a better option would be to get a quality stereo headphone, and get a cheap soundcard that has dolby headphone.
