Hello. I am going off to college this year and will be getting a laptop. I've decided to get a windows as opposed top a mac, as my desktop is a PC and I want to be able to run the same software on both. However, all of my past laptops have been macs, and I must admit that I know little to nothing about PC laptops. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for solid laptops based on my criteria:

-at least a 1980x1080p display
-15-17 inch display
-metal body
-doesn't need to be super slim, but I don't want a massively bulky laptop
- at least 2.5-3.0 GHz CPU, preferably i7 but i5 is ok.
-graphics card that can handle gaming. Doesn't need to run games Crysis 3 maxed, but a decent card.
-price isn't really an issue

Thanks for any input.

You are so right Velo3100!

OP, you never gave us a price range for this laptop but you should certainly save for this if it is too much for now

The Asus n550jk or n550jx are both all metal casing laptops, I personally own the n550jk and haven't had any issues with it, does not overheat because it has 2 cooling fans one for the cpu the other for the gpu, however asus also make another laptop which I belive is all metal too its the Asus zenbook ux303ln. The laptops above meet most, if not all, requirements stated
