Folks could help you better if you can give us an indication of the average ambient temperature in the room where you mainly use the laptop.

High I am looking for a 17" laptop GPU 1080,CPU Intel core i9-8950 HK Ram up to 64GB or higher. full ssd 7200 rpm,2 TB upgradable,Minimum resolution display 2560x1440 or a 4 K high refresh rate 120Hz or higher, My budget is up to $8000. I would like it to last for 5 years. I am worried about cooling in such a beast!! I can go up to 10 lbs. what other suggestions do you folks have .what about Samsung 2TB-4 TB.how is all this going to affect cooling and performance. I am just a beginner but my 2 laptops a Lenova and a Qosmio are just about dead. Almost 10 years now for the 2 off them. thanks for your help. Randy

I would also like great sound from the laptop.My qosmio has great sound. I heard that MSI has good sound also.thanks

I'm out. I fix 'em but I don't buy them any more overspecced than my own needs require and they are for office use.

I'll call in the cavalry on my way out.
