I presently use a dinosaur of a laptop which makes me unproductive (but strong since it is so heavy) when away from my office.

I'm looking for a small, light, powerful laptop. Lots of Excel and simulation models.

Would like a numeric keypad but I can work around that.
No games, cost not really an issue - work will pick up the cost.

I don't need or want a huge screen (present model is a 17" and I can do without top of the line non-integrated graphics.

Basically, I want a fast proc, lots of memory and a small screen on a light platform.

Any suggestions?

Every major brand has their own ultra-thin laptop - Dell has their XPS 13/14z/15z depending on the screen size you would prefer, here's a link to the XPS13: http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-13-l321x/pd. I have used the 15z and love the design, weight and speed (used the i7-2640 w/ 2GB optimus card and 8 GB of RAM)

Sony has the Z series - great aesthetics, good battery life, great docking station option: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=8198552921644570897
