Budget - $100 - $300

Source - PC. I have a Creative Sound Blaster Zx sound card if that makes a difference.

Requirements for Isolation - Some or a lot of isolation is preferred. As long as it's not none.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full size, over ear.

Preferred Balance - I love bass, but I still want to be able to hear the highs/mids.

Past Headphones - Logitech G930. Astro A50. Sennheiser PC360. Sennheiser RS170. Beyerdynamic DT770 80Ohm Pro. The DT770 sounded the best out of all of them, but not by much and I miss having a microphone attached. I don't want to use Modmic.

Preferred Music - I listen to mostly hip hop, rock, and trap.

So yeah, I just want a good sounding headset with a good quality mic.

I just purchased the: SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-Size Gaming Headset - (Black) last month and have used the mic with Teamspeak while playing games with a friend of mine. The mic retracts into the ear piece and you pull on it to bring it back out. Its very flexible so you can move it away from your mouth or towards it as desired to get the proper sound.

They sound find to me, but I'm not an audio nut either. I brought the USB version for my sister for Christmas last year.

though i am not an expert, i don't know of any that will sound as good as the DT's that you had.

just to share (maybe it'll spark an idea). one option is what you said, with a mod mic.
my setup is:
-ATH m50xBL and now i also have HD598, my first open back, loving this one.
-focusrite scarlett solo audio interface so that i could use my
-Audio technica AT2020 xlr condenser mic

condenser mics are much more sensitive (you might know this already) but they do look cool :)

Hey guys, just an update - I was opposed to using Modmic but I found something similar that I am actually willing to try.

I think I'm planning on buying these headphones: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A39PPCG/

and I'm going to pair them with this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJ17WKK/

I'm still looking for suggestions though.
