Hey guys, I'm looking for a good multimedia laptop with a nice screen that isn't a mac.
I really dont know much about laptops as I'm more of a desktop guy, but im heading into university next year and need something more portable.
So here goes:
Budget: No more than 1500$ CAN
(I live in Canada, so Canadian retailers are preferred)
Screen: Bigger than 13" smaller than 17", 1080p display (16x9, widescreen)
It has to be relatively portable so ideally not more than about 6-7 pounds, around the same thickness as a macbook pro if possible (nobody likes a beefy brick amirite?)
Battery life isn't a priority, but as long as can be is best
Wouldn't mind playing some games on it, anything from minecraft to league of legends to battlefield 3 (maybe not battlefield 3 lol but it would be nice)
Youtube, downloading videos, skype and the aforementioned gaming is mainly what Ill use this thing for (and notes of course lol)
A 1Tb or larger hdd would be nice for the downloading of the movies and such
This will be my laptop for a nice little while so something durable would be good
Blu-ray would be great, but if it doesnt fit in the budget it's not necessary. I would like to be able to burn music cds though (maybe even dvds if the price is right)
I have no brand loyalty as long as it isn't apple
