Solution
Of the two laptops the Dell Inspiron 17 would be better for playing games.

The i7-4510u is a dual core CPU compared to the quad core A10-5750m APU so there is a bit of a trade off. Intel's Haswell generation CPUs are about 35% more powerful than AMDs APUs assuming the same clockspeed. That games the i7-4510u will be better in games that uses only 2 core as opposed to 4 cores. But most games only use 2 cores and because Intel CPUs are more powerful than AMD APUs the difference in performance between 2 cores and 4 cores is not as much as you think.

The Geforce 840m is more powerful than the the Radeon HD 8750m, in fact the HD 8750m is less powerful than the 830m. However, even the 840m is not powerful enough to really run games at 1920x1080 resolution. It is considered a mainstream graphics chip and not a "gaming graphics chip". It should generally be enough to run many games with high settings at 1366x768 resolution, or medium settings for more demanding games. Games that are very graphically demanding will likely mean using low settings. Playing games at 1600x900 resolution with the 840m is still possible, but probably with a mix of low and medium settings to get good performance. At 1920x1080 resolution graphic settings generally would need to be set to low unless it is a somewhat old game or is not very graphically demanding.

The Sims 4 is an example of a game that can be played with high settings at 1080p, but Far Cry 4 will likely require low graphic settings at 1080p for decent performance.
