Hey guys I'm planning to buy a new laptop for college, and I need your help in finding the right one. Okay so my budget is 1000 USD max I'll prefer if I can get a good one for cheaper . 1. It should have good battery life the long the better. 2 it should have a really good display because I'll be using it at home as well. 3 if possible then a good enough graphics card to run gta 5, overwatch, etc. That's it I hope you guys can help me figure this out, also if we can find a good laptop in time for black friday sale would save me some money.

Thanks in advance :)

You could look at the new Lenovo Ideapad 720S. Has i7-8550u (4 core 8 thread) CPU, mx150, TB3 etc. And due to its narrow bezel the chassis is actually only 12.5"x0.62" high. Thinner than the XPS 15.

The GPU is enough for casual gaming, and battery life is advertised as 14 hours on MobileMark 2014.

Some say the battery life isn't good but I'm not sure what they're doing whIle testing. I've read/seen reviews saying you can get 8+ hours (out of a 56whr battery should be able to get around this).

To top it off its on sale right now I picked mine up for $1100 CAD so youre probably looking at around $900 or so USD.

Go check out Dell's Inspiron 5000 and 7000 gaming series, which range in price from $700 to just above $1,000. These laptops are beasts, with Quad Core Intel Core i5 or i7 7th Gen CPUs, a minimum of 8gb DDR4 RAM, and you can get them with either a GTX 1050 or GTX 1050Ti graphics card. This laptop will BLOW AWAY any game you throw at it, Overwatch and GTA 5 included. I have an earlier gen Dell Inspiron 7559, with a Core i5 6300 HQ and a GTX 960M, and it runs every game great at high settings. The newer ones are far more powerful, and are also thin and light enough to bring to college classes, not to mention have excellent battery life, and can easily be upgraded to have extra storage or memory.

Hey njsullyalex, how long would you say your Inspiron 7559 last on a full charge? And how's the display?

I almost never run it off the charger, but yesterday, in a rare occasion, I did. I ran it for about two hours, browsing the internet, and battery life didn't drop below 50%.

Yeah, I'll need something with at least 6-7 hours of battery with 50%brightness
