Question Looking to buy a new Camera

Hello, I currently own a Nikon D3500 and I would like to upgrade. My two options are the Sony a6400 and Sony a6700. I can buy 6400 right now and 6700 in about a month or so. I own my Nikon for nearly 5 years but I have not used it until some months ago when I decided to get into photography. My experience is a little over a month but I am a fast learner with a lot of free time. I am mainly asking because I don’t want to buy 6400 and after a year or so need to buy something better. I would like to make a purchase that will last for a couple of years at least. I also intend to learn videography so that is mainly why I consider 6700 more. Thanks for the advices in advance!

What about the D3500 is not meeting your needs and expectations?
It is a very capable camera.
