Looking To Sell Gaming Laptop

Hi, a little over three years ago, I was interested in buying a gaming computer to use at home. At the time, I wasn't very knowledgeable about custom gaming desktops so a laptop was the only way to go. I ended up buying a Lenovo gaming laptop from Best Buy but the laptop had a faulty cooling system and the motherboard would break causing the laptop to fail to power on. Best Buy refused to give me my money back and instead, they gave me an asus laptop. After more than three years and seeing all my friends build their own rig, I want to build my own pc.

The exact model of the laptop is - asus g750jm-bsi7n23 - I would like to know how much I might be able to get out of the laptop and also a place where I could sell it. I did see a similar model of my laptop going for $1,700 on eBay. (I can easily dust out the laptop and also wipe the HDD)

Edit: I also have the original box for it and it runs in great condition.

I currently have $550 but I would like to be able to build a mid-range gaming pc and also purchase a nice 144hz monitor.

Sold listings of that model on ebay show a range from about $400-$600 or so.
