Budget under 20,000 INR. As I built heavy-weight desktop computer few days ago,I can't really afford a laptop with higher specs. For the study,I really need a lap-top ASAP. ASUS or Lenovo? One thing more,if a laptop comes without any optical drives and I wanna install a new OS later, then how would I do this thing? Remind the budget. You can recommend from these websites-

Could you let me know what you are going to do with it. If it is basic things like surfing the web then lenovo may be better as Asus charges more for their laptops.

To install an os on a laptop that doesn't have a optical drive, you need to get a bootable usb and boot it from there. You can go to the microsoft website and get the iso if you have the key for it and follow the onscreen instructions.

I'm also shopping for a good budget laptop under $350. Problem is new ones come with Windows 8.1 and a lot have touchscreens which I don't need. Don't know if Windows 8.1 is any good. Read that there will be lots of good laptop deals for Black Friday and Christmas if you can wait that long.

Wish I could do as yours but for my study I do need that ASAP. As I'm studying GIS,I gotta buy one and that must be installed with a 32 bit OS. Totally confused. Have you shortlisted some laptops yet Dana? Btw,I'm from India.
