Low minecraft performance

I recently built a computer
i7 3770k
radeon hd 6990
4gb ram
1tb hdd
775w psu

one would assume that it will run minecraft fine, but i am running it on 1-2 fps.

open your java appplet and allocate more ram.

this link shows you how with a step by step... xp win7/8 its all the same process.

but even on stock settings you should be getting more than 1-2 fps...
so check for malware and updates for mincraft.
