m.2 speeds on a Laptop?

My laptop is pooping out and I'm looking to get a new one and adding an m.2 drive to it. So I'm looking at m.2 drives that apparently reach speeds between 2,000 MB/s and 4,000 MB/s (based on customer reviews).

My questions are:
1. Are these fast m.2 speeds due to these drives being plugged into an extra PCIe slot (more pci lanes)? Or is it a matter of the number of PCIe lanes available to the m.2 slot (2 lanes vs 4 lanes)?

2. Are laptops even capable of reaching these 2,000-4,00MB/s speeds that desktops appear to be reaching?

3. Are these speeds I'm seeing on reviews accurate/real, or is there some 3rdparty "unleash memory mode" enabled?

3. If these speeds are possible in a laptop, would anyone by chance know some models? (The laptops I'm looking at have an intel i7 8250u or 8550u processor) And would these laptops need to have an extra pcie slot on the motherboard if the m.2 slot is "average" speed?

I'm looking at a few.

ASUS ZenBook UX430UA-DH74 Ultra-Slim Laptop 14”

I chose these models because they're 14" or 13.3" screens.

But i am als o okay with a 15.6" screen, so I was also considering a ryzen 2500u:

This person appears to reach 1GB/s on their laptop so I'm thinking there's a possibility to get more speed from the m.2 drives.
