Macbook air 2012 (i7, 2.0GHz, 500GB, 8GB RAM) or Macbook air 2013 (i5, 1.3GHz, 128GB, 4GB)

I have £650 to spend on a laptop. I have chosen to go down the apple road for various reasons.
I have narrowed my choice down to two options:
Macbook air June 2012 (i7, 2.0GHz, 500GB, 8GB RAM) - From eBay.
Macbook air June 2013 (i5, 1.3GHz, 128GB, 4GB RAM) - From Apple store (refurbished)

Which one should I chose??

Well, 2013 should have better battery life and a ridiculously fast SSD. that's what i'd choose

Yes, but the 2012 has much higher specs. would they preform about the same or would the 2012 be more powerful than the 2013?

Well, what will your usage of the device be? The 2013 model has a considerably faster integrated graphics engine, so if games are your concern, the 2013 model would be faster.
