Macbook, is it worth it?

I found many Macbook Air 11inch 2011 model for Sub 600$, is it still worth a money to use last generation models? I would love to have the newest but
as a student, 1000$ is just too much to handle. Planning to use Autocad and maybe Revit if it does work but these are not my primary reason.
I will say, casual gaming like Leauge and more websurfing, office uses. what do you guys think?
