Hi. I hope someone can help me. I have a PC with an XFX Radeon 6970 1Gb. It has 2xDual-link DVI, 2x miniDisplayPort, 1x HDMI 1.4a.

The 4K Tv I have is a Digihome 4K 48" and has Component, VGA, 4xHDMI, TV Aerial, and something called AV, which looks SD Card sized and shaped, but it's right underneath and impossible to see. The TV own website didn't seem to have any info on it.

Several sites say that the 6970 maxes out at 1920x1080 on HDMI, but don't say why this should be so. Claims of 2560x1600 as an absolute max for the card over DVI, or VGA seem the most common.

Is there a cable I can get that will take miniDisplayPort to VGA or HDMI? Does sending it through the miniDP get round the HDMI resolution restriction?

FYI: AV is the cable that standard xbox 360's use: yello(video) white (left sound) red (right sound)

As far as I know the XFX Radeon 6970 can out put 4k.

and HDMI is higher quality than VGA and VGA requires external audio, so i'd stick with HDMI.

and here is a mini displayport to HDMI converter cable: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-MDP2HDMM2MW-DisplayPort-Converter-6-Feet/dp/B00W506S04/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1463369860&sr=1-2&keywords=B00310EEO4%7CB003V4TVAC%7CB003WV5DII%7CB009YCE11E%7CB00AYAF3MQ%7CB00LV9SUVU%7CB00LV9SWE0%7CB00W505BAW%7CB00W505JJ0%7CB00W506LB0%7CB00W506S04

But as far as i know (unless you have tested it yourself) the XFX Radeon 6970 can out put 4k in HDMI. but Your PC will need to have HDMI 2.0 for the TV to accept 4k from it.
