I've had this laptop (Malibal Lotus P150EM) for almost two and a half years and it works well minus some loud fans and this odd power issue. Essentially, the laptop only runs when it's connected to the charger. The second I unplug it it turns off, giving me no error reports when I turn it back on. This started a few months ago after my battery life had dropped to 20~ minutes. I should note that the problem existed in Windows 7 but now I am using Windows 10.

I've lived with it since then, assuming that the battery was at fault, but recently I decided to buy a new battery for it. When it arrived and I plugged in the new battery, though, the problem is still the same. The computer won't turn on or stay on without being plugged in. It's basically the same as having no battery at all. But the odd thing is that I have a new battery and the computer seems to register the battery, noting that it is plugged in and charging. Here are some pictures.

I'm not sure what's up with that icon for the battery, but as you can see it's recognized by the computer. It just seems like the computer can't access the battery power. I would very much appreciate some help fixing this issue!

Thanks

Hi,

Since you've already replaced the battery with a new one there should be any reason for it not to work. :( But it seems like it's not the battery that is at fault here. Please do try some of these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First uninstall/reinstall "microsoft acpi-compliant control method battery" from Device Manager.
- Once you've uninstalled it just reboot your laptop and it should reinstall that driver automatically.
- Do test if it will stay on after the reboot and the AC adapter unplugged.
- If it doesn't the problem would be inside the PC itself in the connectors of the battery to the motherboard.
- If your laptop is still under some kind of warranty from the manufacturer do contact them for a repair.
