Manually reset phone while it has a black screen

There is usually no pin hole in phones to reset them. Not anymore. If the phone has a black screen, however, a reset won't work and it probably won't fix the problem. A black screen is hardware, not software. You would have to have the device looked at to have the problem fixed.
