So when I had this lag on my laptop, i found it so unbearable I reinstalled windows altogether. First, i only noticed it on chrome, but then I realized my laptop was lagging just in general. My CPU is often 40+ when this happens,
After reinstalling, i still found I couldn't play GTA 3 whereas I could play Assassins creed 3 maxed out just before this all happened. Chrome still lagged horribly, sometimes chrome task manager attributed this to flash, but more commonly just "browser", using about 30 cpu + . When i reset chrome, it's super fast for a few seconds, before reverting, even though I don't touch anything. I can't make it through a 3 minute video
My video games have random fluctuations too, Saints row 3 will play insanely fast, then be super slow. I've checked for viruses using Malwarebytes, SUPERantispyware, and 360 total security, got a few viruses and cookies the first few times, now scans show nothing, no improvement in performance.
I realized I hadn't updated Windows after reinstalling, so I tried that, it was superfast for a while, but then slowed down after rebooting. I'm still checking for more updates every few hours, nothings shown up yet today,
System Specs:
OS: Windows 8.1 pro
Processor: Intel core i5 CPU M540 @ 2.53 GHz
RAM: 4 gb
Graphics card: Nvidia NVS 5100m
Help me out guys! This is my first question on this website, but the website has helped me out countless times before.
