Had a loose screen connection on my HP Pavillion G7 (image disppeared when screen was moved to certain positions).

So took apart laptop.

Didn't change anything (couldn't find screen connector).

Put everything back together.

Now, laptop still works BUT don't see anything on screen.

Can see everything when connecting laptop to monitor.

What did I screw up and how do I fix it?

Solution
Bad ribbon cable that goes to the monitor screen, would be my guess.

Perhaps the part can be located here:

Thanks.
How can I tell if the cable is simply loose or if it's broken?
And where is the cable and what does it look like?
Need to be comfortable knowing what to do/look for before I open the laptop again.
Thanks.

At approximately 6:15 of this video, I think he is removing the cable to the screen. It appears to be located just in front of the left hinge assembly:

I don't know how you tell if the cable is bad, or just loose. If you see no obvious damage, I would unseat both ends of the cable and re-seat them in the connectors and see if that solves the problem. I suppose another possibility could be a bad connector.

Maybe someone else will chime in if they have any other ideas. :)
