Microphone Doesnt Work

okay so my microphone picks up the sound of a fan and thats all it ever hears when i talk it doesnt hear anything

is this a table microphone? then I suggest you turn off the table fan near you and bring that microphone closer.

you can always try to access "recording devices" (right click on speak on you taskbar) and there you can probably adjust the input of the microphone.

of course I am assuming you have this microphone plugged into the "Red" micro connector on your sound card.
