Microsoft Access 2013 No Longer Asks Which Database to Open during Start-Up

When MS Access 2013 is initialized, by default it is configured to display and interface from where you can select the most recently opened database, or you can also create a new database right from the scratch. Because of this behavior of the program, many users find it easier to navigate through their recent databases on which they have been working, and they can also access the desired ones right from this interface as well.

When MS Access 2013 does not ask you which database should be opened during the start-up, it automatically opens the database that was most recently opened. In one way, this configuration saves your time that you would spend otherwise in opening the most current database manually every time you initialize the application, you might not prefer using this settings because it does not allow you to select the desired database on which you wish to work.

The above situation, which says that the MS Access 2013 does not display any start-up interface when the program is initialized, may arise when the application settings have been modified either deliberately or accidentally by any person or third-party application that is incompatible with the program. In either case, you can easily revert the MS Access 2013 settings back to default and that too without any administrative intervention.

Below is the process that will guide you about how you can learn how to make MS Access 2013 program to allow you to choose the desired database when you initialize the application, instead of opening the most recent one on its own:

■Log on to the computer using any account.

■Make sure that the MS Access 2013 application is successfully installed on the computer and is running flawlessly.

    ■Initialize the program.

■On the opened interface, go to the FILE tab.

■From the displayed list, go to Options.
