Maybe I'm missing something and just don't know how to use the new version, but after about a year of using Bing AI in Edge, I recently went to copilot.microsoft.com and was disappointed with the changes I found:
1. The previous version kept a list of previous conversations on the right part of the screen, but that was no longer available.
2. The previous version allowed an image to be pasted into the question box, but the new version does not. You must instead navigate to the desired file so it can be uploaded.
3. The previous version allowed users to select whether they wanted the responses to be more creative or more precise, but you must specifically tell the new version.
I figured a tradeoff for losing these three things might be that the new version's AI might have become a little more competent, but I have seen no sign of that. In the previous version I asked it to list 10 colors whose names contained an odd number of letters, and it could never get it right no matter how many chances I gave it. It seems that although it could define what odd and even meant, it could not apply it to counting letters in a word. The new version did no better. Out of disgust I finally asked it if there was any way to UPGRADE to the previous version, but it said there wasn't.
Oddly, the sidebar version still seems to be the older version in which you can select the verbosity, paste images, and see a list of previous conversations. I specifically asked the new version if it could do any of these things and it explicitly said it couldn't. I'm now just holding my breath waiting for Microsoft to dumb down the sidebar version too.
