Microsoft Transcriber

I am using HP ipaq2210 and Windows 2003 Chinese version. I would like to
install the Microsoft Transcriber which I found in the Microsoft website.
My friend installed that sucessfully as he used the Windows 2002 Chinese
version.

After I tried to run the programme after installing, a dialogue box shown
"The system file in the registry is not the dll file of the Transcriber." I
called the HP support hotline but no one can help me with that.

I wonder if the Transcriber can be used in the Windows 2003. but is there
other freeware can do the same. Please kidnly help.

I have the same problem same system and am looking for a hack. At present
we can't use transcriber or software like it.

Probably you have also installed some Chinese handwriting software eg.
PenPower ?

That software has a DLL with the same name as that required for Transcriber.
During your transcriber installation, the old DLL can't be overwritten
becuase you are using it and thus the DLL for MS transcriber was not
properly installed.
