Another one of the quests where you will be tracking and killing a monster that is a flying monster and likes to stay in the air most of the time so it may become a pain for you. Anyways, the objective of the quest is to track and hunt down the monster named Azure Rathalos which can be easy as you have faced Rathalos which is the normal version of Azure Rathalos.
So if you complete the quest successfully, you will be rewarded with a huge amount of 14400z which is a lot as you do not get such amount for these quests but it is a great way to make a good amount of zenny as you just need to kill a monster. So you will be given a window of 50 minutes and if you complete the quest in that time, you will be given the reward. But if you do not complete the quest in that time, you will fail it. You will also fail it if you faint three times during it. You also need a hunter rank of 13 or more to start the quest.
So with everything out of the way, let’s start the quest:
- You may find the Azure Rathalos in the ancient forest and bear in mind that you can also expect Rathian flying beside it, which is alarming as both of them are very powerful and dangerous monsters so you will have a hard time facing both. Anyways, you can get them to fight each other if you are lucky enough.
- The Azure Rathalos is similar to the normal Rathalos but differs in just a few things. As the Rathalos usually gets into melee attacks, the Azure Rathalos relies on the distant fireballs and also charge attacks. Use the flash pods and also Dung pods to keep other flying creatures away.
- The head, tail and wings of the Azure Rathalos are weaker and it takes a lot of damage to these areas but the head takes the most damage. The head, body, tail and wings are all breakable. Also, the Azure Rathalos is weak against the Dragon elemental attacks.
- The monster is resistant to Fire and is also resilient to the blast and poison ailments. It is not particularly weak against any other ailments. So make sure to keep these things in mind while you are fighting the Azure Rathalos. You won’t face many difficulties as you know much about the normal Rathalos and that applies to this one as well.
Once you have killed the Azure Rathalos, carve it and this will complete the quest. Once the quest is completed, you will not only get the reward of 14400z but you will also unlock the optional quest Special Arena: HR Azure Rathalos.
