Moto G Bricked?

Hey everyone
So I bought a Moto G like 4 months ago and recently, it stopped working. One day when I came home from school, the phone would not turn on. I connected it to the charger, and a white screen with a battery in the middle would come up saying 0%. I left it on the charger for a really long time and it doesn't seem to charge

Soo I have 2 questions.

1. Is it my battery's fault? Do I have to replace the battery?
2. Can a phone work by directly drawing power from the charger? I used to use the phone a lot when it would go to like 3% and I'd just connect my charger and use it but this seems like something else is broken in the phone as well.

this must be under warranty i would contact them for a repair or a rma for a new one .

If I go to the store that I purchased it from, is it likely that they would replace my phone and fix me up with a new one? Because I'd rather just get a new phone rather than having to get it fixed. Thanks for the help!
