MS Outlook 2013 No Longer Plays Notifications When New Mail Arrives

By default MS Outlook 2013 is configured to play the default notification sound every time it receives a new email in the inbox. If you are facing the issue as described in the title, something or someone has modified the default settings, if you are not the one who has done so.

If you are unable to hear only the notification sound, and all other tunes and songs are audible, you are required to set the MS Outlook 2013 settings back to default, at least the ones that are related to the notification sounds.

The good thing is that modifying the default notification sound settings, or any other such configuration is completely instance specific. This being said, no administrative intervention is required to make the changes, and neither do you need any administrator rights to get the job done. However it is still required that you log on to the computer using the account on which your email account is mapped with the instance of MS Outlook 2013 so that you can make the modifications for the right account.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to re=enable the unavailable notification sounds that the MS Outlook 2013 should play every time it receives an email.

Here’s what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which the MS Outlook 2013 is installed.

■Make sure that you log on using the correct account that is mapped with the email ID and the MS Outlook 2013 program.

■Initialize MS Outlook 2013 program by double-clicking its icon.

■On the opened interface, click the FILE tab.

■From the displayed list, go to Options.

■If the problem persists, close the program, restart the computer, and then try again.
