MSI GE60 extremely slow internet

Just got my GE60 and the internet speed is just extremely slow or non-existent, my desktop is running at normal internet speeds. Anyone know what might be causing this or someone who has the same problem?

what wireless card is installed - is it an N or ac card?
are you using your laptop in the same place as your desktop
how many devices are hooked up to your wifi / internet
