one can’t help but be reminded of post-apocalyptic killing machines seen in films such as The Terminator and The Matrix.

I can, easily. I just thought it was a cool piece of tech. Although I think the media perpetuates these very odd anti-techno fears, so perhaps I'm just immune to that idiocy.
