The little round plastic cover on my LNB is rotting away and is no
longer keeping water out. Would water getting in the LNB cause damage?
Coincidentally or not, I am also having trouble getting any signal. I
don't want to move the dish yet before I make sure.

Without the cover you might find wasps in there. If water isn't
running into the LNB it will probably be fine.

If you're talking about a BUD feedhorn, then some water getting
in there probably won't hurt it, although it's not a good idea.
As mentioned above, insects might also get in, which is undesirable
(for you, not for the insects).

If you're talking about a Ku LNBF or anything similar, then yes,
water getting in could hurt it. It might work if dried out again,
but then again it might not.
