Solved! MXQ pro 4k not working on tv?

Hi guys,

I've just received my mxq pro 4k box but when i plug it into the tv there is nothing coming up on the screen, its saying there is no source. I've found on another forum site someone asking if the tv is a 4k tv, but then the thread goes quiet. My tv is not 4k will could this be the issue that I'm having, if so is there anything i can do the the android box or my tv to get around this? if i need to wipe the android box i can do as i have kodi on my laptop, just wondered if there were any other programmes I could use?

When you connect the mxq to the TV with HDMI it should set itself to be compatible with the TV. I would try it on another TV.
Might be dead on arrival.

I've tried it on several tv's before I posted on here. I tried connecting it via usb to my laptop and the button was significantly lighter. I'm wondering if the plug I'm using doesn't have enough power. I'm going to try a usb one later and if that doesn't work, I've already contacted the seller to day I think the box is dead and requested a replacement or refund.
