My 5520 wil not boot up

hi my acer 5520 will not boot up the fan will turn the dvd drive will light up but the screen will stay black the power button will light up for about 10 seconds then it will turn off

Are these symptoms only when running on battery or while plugged into the power adapter or both?
Is the light on on your power adapter?
Does your battery charge indicator show green or orange or red?
You can try this - don't know if it'll help or not though. 1) unplug power adapter from laptop, 2) remove battery, press and hold power button for 30 seconds, replace battery and power adapter, try starting then
