My acer aspire 7745G-9823 will not turn on but a red light blinks five times when I try to turn it on

Try starting it without the battery in, just the charger cord. If it loads, then there is probably something wrong with the battery, and you need to replace it.

Just be sure you do that soon, as it is not good to run on the charger cord alone for any real length of time.
