My Acer Aspire E17 will not switch on.

The battery charges up OK, I have tried battery reset but it made no difference. It was working OK until 4 weeks ago. Then the power button had to be pressed for longer before it switched on. Now that approach does not work./ I have cleaned around the button with compressed air but no joy. Any suggestions please

1. Unplug your charger cord.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Press and hold the "Power" button for 30 seconds.
4. Now plug back in the power/charger cord.
5. Now put the battery back in.

Sorry but I cannot remove the battery, that is why I tried a battery reset

did you try these steps skipping removing battery? Also the switch that turns on power when lid is opened may have gone bad. Try moving lid in different positions while trying to power on the lap top. If you get it on leave the lid open in that position.
