My Alcatel phone will not charge. The light flashes but it will not power on.

Take the power cable out and gently ease the back panel off. If the battery is removeable, take it out and put the back on before trying to power up the device.

If it works after that, the battery is so flat it can't pass power through itself and needs replacing.
