My asus notebook pc wont turn on and doesnt show any light when i plug in the charger

I know its a motherboard problem but will i lose everything thats there on my laptop...i mean will it get formatted if i get it fixed

Hi, maybe the adapter is defective or the DC jack is desolder. What model do you have?
