My computer shut down when unplugged and wont turn back on

Hello,
my laptop shut off when my husband unplugged it and now wont turn on at all i mean he cant even get it to windows... tried doing safe mode (f8) and that doesnt work either what can it be and ho wdo we fix?

can you see the boot up screen? If no remove a ram chip and see if you can. Can you see the windows log in scree? Where does it die is the big question.

Is there a sequence of flashing lights when you try to power it on? Fan noises, lights of any nature...
