My DVD player is hooked up with red and white and yellow on DVD and TV not getting a picture

I hooked my TV to my DVD with red and white and yellow on both nothing happens

Ok first thing is use the DVD Out ... and the TV in ... white and red are the audio RCA lines ... Yellow is the video.

Ensure you select "Composite Video" as a source signal on the TV ...

Should work.

What is a composite video..I don't see that
