Using a chromebook now, before this was a Macbook. Looking for a decent-to-good gaming laptop. Must be a laptop, not a desktop. I understand there are trade-off, but a desktop will not fit my needs. So:

1. What is your budget? 1500-1800

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 14"15" can be 17" but preferably smaller

3. What screen resolution do you want? 120hz screen, good screen for fps

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? no

5. How much battery life do you need? limited battery needed, will stay plugged in most of the time

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? yes to games, not sure what though, fps, overwatch, civ type games, the wider variety I can play the better

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? this will be my general everyday dining room table computer (web surfing, news, media, some photo editing, etc)

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? SSD is an obvious must, otherwise, some but I can always use an external drive

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. AMAZON

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? as long as possible, so future proof for a few years would be nice

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? I prefer no optical whatsoever

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. Asus, Acer, Dell, MSI

13. What country do you live in? U.S. but am overseas due to military

I am looking for smooth fps use so from what I read a 120hz screen?
Is 1070 8gb, worth cost over 1060 6gb?
Want I7 not I5
I have heard about NVMe M.2 but I honestly don't know what that is, would it be better to downgrade video card from 1070 to 1060 and go with NVMe with the saved cash?
