Sounds like you may have damaged the charging socket for the Nook Tablet.

Try cleaning it with a toothbrush to ensure there is no dirt of obstruction in it ... put a little isopropyl alcohol on the brush.

Remove the battery and clean the contacts ... check and see if it has any charge in it with a multimeter.

If the battery is charged and it still will not turn on then the device is damaged.

How do I get to. Battery? Cleaned port now green light comes on for a sec, turns orange then goes out!
