my hp laptop always off at 57 percent

I jus boughtt fairly used hp dv2000 and anytime i charge the battery it will off when it reach 57 percent,even the extra battery cannot charge more 57 percent,so please i want know if the issue is laptop or battery

Likely the battery, although you said something about "the extra" battery. Are they both the same age of battery?

What is "off" at 57%? Do you mean when the battery runs down to that % the laptop shuts off? Or that it does not charge past that?

I'd try a new battery first.
