My Internet Won't Work

I have an Acer E 15 laptop, and when I originally had it the internet worked perfectly. One day, the computer crashed and restarted, and when it loaded, instead of the normal wifi symbol, it is an image of a computer screen and chord, with a small red x. Ever since, I have not been able to pick up or connect to any wireless internet. I have troubleshooted this many times, and it claims I have a broken or disconnected ethernet cable. I plugged one in and could access the internet, but when removed, the wireless was still disconnected. I can't get it to work again. Please help.

The simplest way might be
RIGHT click on ThisPC
click on properties
then device manager
Find and expand the entry for network adapters
Find the wifi device
Right click on it and UNINSTALL .

Then restart the computer . If its going to work it will find new hardware [ the wifi adapter] and install it again

You will have to know your network name and password

Hey there outlander_04 thanks for the advice. New problem. I don't have a WiFi device under network adaptors. The only thing I have is RealTek PCIe GbE family controller. I followed your advice with that, but to no avail. Thanks though
