my laptop blinks when i shut it down

my laptop blinks when i shut it down, please help me, i used my laptop for about 6 hours last night, i do some editing in photoshop.. and i properly shut it down when i finished.. but today no problem in starting up, its not blinking...but when i shut down, it blinks before it shut down, what happen, i hope u guys can help me.. The screen monitor of my laptop blinks when i shutdown...

may be u r new to laptop..you r not shutting down your laptop..you r making it sleep(stand by) mode
