it fell down now displays a plain color, between white and grey. you can hear it start and works well on external monitor. is it a bad cable connection inside between the monitor? how can i get rid of it?

Hi,

I would suggest opening the laptop and check if the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard if it's seated properly. Unplug both ends of the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard then put it back in and see if the same problem will persist or not. If it will end up having the same problem with the screen the only solution with it would be to replace the LCD since it has been damaged due to the fall.

more than likely the screen is damaged. what is the make & model# of that hp laptop?
