Solved! My laptop is on but doesn't show display

Hi, my laptop stopped running and thought it was a windows issue. But when i hit the power button its fan starts for few seconds and lights on but display doesn't come up. Thought it would be a RAM issue and cleaned its RAM but issue is still there? What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance

Nick, first thing is to plug it into an external monitor or TV using VGA, HDMI or whatever. Do you get a picture?

Thanks, Mike. It's solved. There was an issue of the memory slot. One of the RAM slots wasn't working and there were 2 RAMs. Now I removed 1 RAM from the slot which wasn't working and it's working fine now.
