For the last few months whenever I play an audio file of any sort random buzzing noises occur. I was wondering if anyone has faced this problem before and how they fixed it. Could it be that my soundcard is starting to give out on me? An if so is it even possible to change just the motherboard in a laptop?

Quite often buzzing is caused by:
A broken solder connection on an audio connector, a ground loop from the cable company, a defective cable, etc...
Random parts replacement is NOT recommended. It is better to have a tech confirm the actual cause before spending money on parts.
I have seen people guessing and replacing parts, spending $$$ on random parts replacement, and NEVER solving anything.
Our local professionals, computer shop, charge $35 to diagnose a problem, and it's MORE than worthwhile.
