My laptop will not on without my laptop charger

I use Toshiba satellite L55-C model. My laptop just went off and will not on without connecting a charger. There's an indication that the laptop is charging but it has not moved above 87% since the problem occurred. I find it hard to believe there's a problem with the battery since I've used it for less than 2 years. What do I do?

If it's not running on the battery, it's either a bad battery or the motherboard connection to the battery is faulty or has a lose connection. Decide which one you want to test first.

Same happened to me. Turned out that battery was gone. I had to change the battery and now it's working perfectly fine. Remember to keep a watch on normal charge/discharge cycles on your laptop battery as these are quite sensitive to overcharging damage.
